Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

EMT training

This 12-week course includes skills in medical emergencies, patient trauma, patient assessment, care and transportation of the sick and injured, pediatric emergencies, ambulance operations and more. Students learn skills to prepare them to obtain Emergency Medical Technician certification and prepare them for career opportunities. Job placement assistance is available to all graduates of this program.

Cost of required books: $195 (Cost may vary)

Total cost of program: $1990

NOTE:  This program does not qualify for Financial Aid.

The employment outlook for Emergency Medical Technicians is projected to grow much faster than average over the next decade. Our population is aging and will experience more medical emergencies.  Job availability ranges from medical and surgical hospitals, local government agencies, and ambulatory health care services.  EMTs are typically dispatched by a 911 operator, and often work with police and fire department personnel. EMTs provide vital serbvices in emergencies such as automobile accidents, drowning, chidlbirth, and gunshot wounds.

  • High School Diploma or (GED)
  • Demonstration of a minimum of 9th grade proficiency in reading, language, and math
  • Pass a physical and TB test
