Automotive Body Repairer

This program is designed to prepare the student for entry-level employment in the auto body repair field. Students are expected to participate in classroom instructional activities which emphasize hands-on experience.
Training includes basic auto body damage repair and alignment; structural and suspension damage analysis; repair and replacement; as well as refinishing techniques and auto glass replacement. All training meets nationwide industrial standards.
- Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion & Skills Sheet as Auto Body Repairer
- Graduates can receive job placement assistance
- All teachers are credentialed by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- Teachers providing vocational training have had work experience in related business and/or industry
Day Time Program
30 Week Program

Prerequisites:
The student should have sufficient knowledge of the English language and innate skills to be able to understand collision manuals and textbooks that explain unibody repair and related materials. The student will spend approximately 80% of instruction in hands-on experience working on vehicles. Students may work on their own vehicle with prior approval of the instructor.

Training Modules:
Basic Unibody Repair
This module provides you with fundamentals of unibody structural diagnosis, alignment and repair, including removal and replacement of damaged portions of vehicles using structural welding techniques.
Automobile Damage Repair
This module prepares the student for general body damage measurement, types of damage, bending and repairing buckling, dents, heat shrinking, and the repair of plastic, welding, and joining. Student will be able to detect faulty repairs and make proper correction. Also, the student will learn MIG, oxygen, acetylene, and structural panel welding.
Automobile Refinishing
The student will receive hands-on experience with spot painting and complete refinishing of automobiles using state-of-the art materials.
Hazardous Material Handling
The student will learn to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials related to auto body repair.
Automobile Damage Estimates
You will learn to accurately analyze collision repair for estimate writing.
Required Orientation & Assessment
Every Wednesday 8:15 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room.
